- שְׁחִיתָהf.; pl. שְׁחִיתוֹת (b. h.; שָׁחַת) pits. Yoma 10a ששי שמשים … כש׳ he was named Sheshai (Num. 13:22), because he made the ground (on which he stepped) like pits; Yalk. Num. 743.(Yalk. Prov. 961 בשחיתותו, read: בשחותו, quot. fr. Prov. 28:10.
